Gateshead, Tyne & Wear
Internal Branch Sales Executive – Industrial MRO Distributor
£22-24K + profit share
Join a highly successful national distributor that values and develops its people. Follow a clear promotion path, into key account management and beyond.
If you live and breathe sales, this could be a great opportunity.
Operating from branches throughout the UK, my client has a vast catalogue of electrical and mechanical components that it distributes to industrial and commercial customers.
They’re not just about selling ‘bits’ though. Training, field service and technical project support underpin lasting relationships with some major customers.
Relationships you’ll help to maintain, as a member of the Gateshead branch team.
You’ll be working with all kinds of companies to help them deliver their projects efficiently, while maximising sales for the branch.
A lot of your time will be spent on the phone: contacting customers to discuss requirements or follow up quotes; and answering incoming enquiries about products, prices and orders.
What does success look like? When a customer needs a component and automatically reaches for their phone to call you!
Orders will range from a single component to kit for an entire project. You could well find yourself putting proposals together with the technical team or setting up multiple deliveries.
And then there’ll be the branch teamwork. Maybe jumping in the van to make an urgent delivery when nobody else can. It’s all about delighting the customer.
Great career path. Excellent rewards
You’ll get plenty of training from day one and you can absolutely move up into key account management with the experience you’ll gain, maybe in as little as a year.
The company will take care of you. Benefits include private medical cover, a decent pension contribution and 5 weeks’ annual leave, alongside a generous profit share scheme.
The branch itself has a great atmosphere. You’ll enjoy coming to work.
You’ll almost certainly be working in a branch set up, with some kind of component or technical supplies business.
Beyond this, you’ll need to be a natural seller, who instinctively does the right thing by customers and builds relationships, and sales, as a result.
If you’re in internal (or external) sales already, then great, but if you’re in the warehouse, back office or logistics and have these qualities, you could also be in the frame.
The person that takes this job certainly won’t be a stranger to branch order systems and they’ll be well-organised, with a good head for figures.
Sounds like you? Then get in touch.
